Company Cyber Policy and Terms of Use Agreement


Cyber Policy Department Heads Cameron Brian Jacob Annette The purpose of the Cyber Policy Department is to ensure that Widget Tech Inc. complies with all provincial and federal guidelines for online use, safety, and storage of onsite equipment and data. All employees have a duty to report any online and inter office issues arising from company computer use. Employees are required to report any suspicious or malicious activity to a department head immediately upon discovery of a problem.

Internal Computer Use


Internal computer use is limited to programs that are installed on company computers. These programs may include Microsoft Office and any Machine Operating Software. Any updating or modifications, deleting, or unauthorized access to these programs for any reason will be subject to a disciplinary action. If you have any issues with these programs you must notify either the department heads or internal computer technician with the appropriate administrative authority.

External Computer Use


External Computer use is limited to access to outside sources via the internet. The sources may include social media and email sites. These websites or programs are NOT allowed to be installed to any company computer for any reason. Cell phones and non-approved devices are NOT allowed to be connected to company network or Wi-Fi signals at any time. Access to social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter can only be done so on a sanctioned company break. Any employee that is found to be using these programs during company hours or in inappropriate places will be subject to disciplinary action. Inappropriate places include, but not limited to, factory floor or while operating any company machinery or vehicles.

Confidentiality
No employee shall post or say anything about the company or its employees on any website or media source without written consent of an executive. No employee shall use company letterhead, logo, stationary, or trademarks to make any personal statements or posts. No employee will discuss any company business with anyone who is not any employee and any employee who does not have proper clearance for the information.

Accountability
As an employee of Widget Tech Inc. you will conduct yourself in a professional manner while dealing with outside sources while representing the company. Widget Tech Inc. takes very seriously its image and the respect and privacy of every employee. Any verbal harassment whether spoken or done so electronically of any employee by anyone is a serious matter and will be dealt with accordingly with disciplinary action. Any physical assault by an employee whether to another employee or anyone in conduct of business with the company WILL BE TERMINATED. At no time will any employee knowingly attempt to or help outside persons from gaining access to company data or files. These file can be electronic or paper. Anyone caught doing so WILL BE TERMINATED. Widget Tech Inc. acknowledges employees rights to voice their opinions in any form, whether spoken or written. However the company does have strict policies on unacceptable behavior. These include, but not limited to, viewing pornography of any kind at any time while on company time or property. Employees discovered with Child Pornography at any time WILL BE TERMINATED. Defaming, slanderous, or liable statements made by employees. Hate speech of any kind. These actions depending severity will be taken on a case by case basis and could be subject to discipline or termination. It is an employees obligation to protect Widget Tech Inc.s reputation at all times. Any employee found to be liable, slandering, or defaming of Widget Tech Inc. will be subject to disciplinary action and/or termination. Any comments, questions, opinions, or concerns about company operations or personnel should be made to either a supervisor or an executive.

Copy Write, Trade Mark, and Patent Protections


No employee shall copy or take home any company owned software or hardware at any time, unless that employee is authorized by an executive. No employee shall take pictures on company property at any time for any reason, unless authorized by an executive. It is an employees duty to report and/or stop any copying or taking of any company software or hardware by anyone. An employee shall report and/or stop anyone from taking pictures on company property. Only those with written authorization from an executive can take pictures or copy or take company software or hardware. Failure to do so will be subject to disciplinary action.

Free Time
Widget Tech Inc. makes every effort to provide a work environment that is fair and flexible. We understand and acknowledge that an employees free time is their own. It is a policy of Widget Tech Inc. that all employees be free from work obligations when work hours are concluded. Barring an emergency or an important update that the employee must know about, an employee is not to be contacted or allowed to work while at home or away. Because of this policy it is an expectation of any employee that when they are on company time they are working. Social Media and private email must not be conducted at work unless on a sanctioned break. Widget Tech Inc. uses and monitors computer access and content so that all employees are treated fairly and the appropriate work is being completed on time. Also to make sure that the company is complying with all appropriate provincial and federal laws. Anyone who is caught misappropriating company time and resources will be subject to disciplinary action.

Updates and Review


This policy and any relevant information to the topic will be reviewed and updated is necessary on a semi-annual basis. The Cyber Policy Department will meet and discuss all information as well as suggestions for employees on how to better manage time and resources.

Policy Application
This policy applies to any employee of Widget Tech Inc., whether they are onsite or offsite employees. Any contractor who is engaged in Widget Tech Inc. business is held to the same standards of this policy. Any employee who does not follow this policy will be subject to disciplinary action and/or termination Any contractor who is found to be in violation of this policy will be subject to an investigation.

Disciplinary Action
Widget Tech Inc. disciplinary action against an employee is as follows: First Offense: Verbal and Written Warning. This will be filed in employees permanent file. Second Offense: 3 Day suspension, Written Warning. This will be filled in an employees permanent file. Third Offense: TERMINATION Any serious violation of company policy, such as Child Pornography and physical assault, will be TERMINATED IMMEDIATELY and will involve law enforcement if laws are broken. Contractors or Contractors Company could have their current contract termi nated, removed from premises, and/or banning pending an investigation. The action taken will be on a case-bycase basis and could result in a permanent ban depend on investigation finds.
