Aim of Life Origin of Life:It is very difficult to say when the Life originated on this uni verse.

There are 84 lacs of species. What appears to us as material, earthly, fles h-bound life is in reality divine. Our Life is a very valuable, precious gift of the God .Man is called as a master of all animals (i.e. living beings). Accordin g to Darwin's theory of evolution the life from the single cell like Ameba has b een evolved to the stage of a man after many many centuries of struggle for exis tence. Our life is the musical expression of the God`s love and his blessing. Th ere are many thinking on the origin of life. Scientists think that life does not originate on our planet, Philosophers say that life has its source in cosmic re gion, and theologians believe that the life is a gift of God. Our Intuition sa ys that life is something so ethereal, so subtle, and so dissimilar to every mat erial object hence matter cannot be its father. Our scientific reasoning tells to our commonsense that life is a wonderful force a guiding principle and is selfconscious. This self-consciousness operates at a very high degree and is endowed with the sense of right or wrong, good and evil. This sense of choosing the rig ht , and good is seen only in the man and this sense is nothing but the Dharma o r the righteousness which occupies the paramount importance and position in all the religions of the world. There is a well-known verse in Mahabharata whic h says in matters of food, sleep, and other physical needs man is par with anima ls. It is the sense of Dharma, righteousness living with all its implications, t hat differentiates him from animals. Man is in essence nothing but the spirit. Hence the origin of our life is not here but in heaven abode. There in the perfe ction of the Divine plenitude we are born. When we think that we are born in hea ven, our mind can no longer be fascinated towards unevenly things. We are very much fascinated to know about the creator of this universe. At this stage a self introspection starts to know whom am I? What is the force which up holds the universe? What is that by which we live, by which after death we live again? There is one infinite, eternal, changeless, Existence, the ALL from that ALL comes forth, to that all returns. "The one only without a second" (Chandogya .VI). People gave many different names to that ALL .The most ancient and well kn own and accepted name is BRAHMAN". Western philosophers gave a name as God." God i n his own nature. Man naturally bow down to this BRAHMAN the supreme power and s tarted praising, worshipping by paying highest respect with humility. This shape d into the true supreme Divine love together with the steps leading to it is cal led Bhakti/Devotion. The Devotion is of the nature of love only because it is th e opposite of the hatred and it is expressed by words, and deeds. The Bhakti i s firm love.Shri.Madhwacharya the founder of the Dvaita philosophy has stated th at there is no place for Bhakti in the form of hatred.Shri.Jayateertha in his " Nyayasudha" Defines Bhakti as under: "It is a continuous flow of love uninterrup ted by thousands of obstacles, which is many a times dearer than one's own self and other belongings and which has the knowledge of unlimited, infinite, flawles s, auspicious qualities of God." Man's love of God (Bhakti) should possess this quality of clinging firmly to God at all costs. It is only such a love that is c apable of revealing to the soul his true relation to the God as his image (prati bimba) Our holy Scriptures explain that " God is wisdom of the wise, intelligence of t he intelligent ,knowledge of the seeker ,kindness of the kind, ahimsa of the ahi msatmak, love of the loving, truth of the truthful, the beauty of the beautiful ( satyam Shivam sundaram) , combination of all virtues and in fact, a mighty p ositive force." Awaken to this inner consciousness, we begin to experience menta l equipoise returned to us ,suffusing our entire being with a new sense of well being. The realization begins to implode with meaning and awareness of life in a ll its depth and intricacy. The unbridled craze for material achievements tends to lose its momentum giving way to a new understanding of the universe, the purp ose of our existence its ultimate goal. We begin to see ourselves as beings more sublime, subtler, and more substantive, now reaching beyond the confines of our narrow self-image in an effort of selftranscendence Spiritual awareness is a super sensory process of self-introductio

n of an individual to his own self, to knowing what he is and what he really oug ht to be. Spiritual life opens the gateway to Truth. It leads one to the realization of God through knowing himself or self realization. To know the real nature of this sp irit the universal self of all in its very essence is the Aim/Goal of the Life, the purpose of the human birth. (To be Continued) (Author: Raghavendra. Padasalgi)
