Choose two artists above who have very different approaches to painting.
Within two facing pages of your sketchbook (or more, if you wish), compare and
contrast these two artists. The way you choose to fill the page should somehow
embody some of the most obvious characteristics of their style, and possibly, their
subject matter.

In these pages, you should include:

At least one image of each artist’s work that best displays how different these two artists are from
each other in their approach to painting.

Provide important information about each artist, such as:

Any important art movements they were a part of
Their birth-death dates
Some of the themes and concepts they mainly worked with
An exciting or unique (or weird!) fact you found out about them
(Be inventive in how you include text!)

Both pages should be visually connected, and should demonstrate your

understanding of strong composition, and careful, selective application of materials.

Be clever in your approach to this assignment...Play around with your

sketchbook, make it fun, and above all, distinctly different from what you think
your classmates may do.
