    ABSTRACT

    At this time practicum observation method to observe the motion of the operator in the three types of layout in assembling a toy car. The purpose of this activity is to determine the time spent, labor movements, and also map it works. To facilitate the analysis of the labor movement elements are studied, should be known in advance fundamental movements. It was observed Therblig there are 5 basic movements made by the operator, which includes reaching movement, holding, carrying, assembling, and putting. Based on calculations, the standard time for that initial layout, proposal 1, 2, and 3 in a row is 81.26 sec / unit, 78.77 seconds / unit, 77.24 seconds / unit, and 64.40 sec / unit. The smallest standard time is obtained at the time of assembly by using the proposed layout 3, which means that the layout is the layout of the most effective and optimal compared to other layout for operators.
