General information: Name school: Six week planning Curriculum Design Type of education: VMBO Class: 3 Date & time: Duration of lesson: 50 minutes Cognitive learning objectives: The students can - write down names of notorious criminals - ask simple questions after watching a short film fragment. - give their own expectations on the subject by expressing opinions and giving reason. Affective learning objectives: The students can - make groups and decide on what notorious criminal they will held a presentation. - come to an agreement on their chosen criminal

Materials: A3 paper sheets (group wordwebs) Vocabulary sheet for students Pens Smartboard Time table hand outs Question sheets on students expectations Starting situation: The group is a class 3 vmbo/bk and they have worked with the Spepping Stones method. The students have basic grammar and basic vocabulary knowledge. They will be provided with topic related vocabulary.

Personal learning objectives: The teacher can Speak English at all times , adapt to the level of students, explain the assignment, take care of class management; like structure and atmosphere in class Time Teacher activity Student activity Students read timetable together with the teacher and ask questions when things are not clear to them. The teacher tells the students to make groups of 5 four for next lesson, in which they will work together on a presentation in week six. End (evaluation, summary, planning for next lesson) Teacher hands out a question sheet and explains 10 that students need to fill it in. All students need to have a note book or binder so that they can work on their vocabulary list.

Students answer a question sheet about their expectations and bring to next lesson. Homework: bring a note book or binder especially for this six week curriculum Find materials on criminals and bring to next lesson.(internet, newspapers, magazines.)

Being able to talk about criminal activities. Materials: A3 sheets (group posters) Pen, note book, binder Smartboard Folder/Portfolio Assignment hand out Glue, scissors, markers Starting situation: Students have been introduced to the topic of Crooks and Criminals. Last lesson they wrote down their expectations for this task. Relevant information: It is very important for a good progression of the task that every student have brought a note book or a binder.

Teacher helps by asking questions as: - What does your group need to do a good presentation? - What does your presentation look like? - Is it important to have deadlines? - Who does what? - Can you make a list? End (evaluation, summary, planning for next lesson) Teacher asks student how far they have come with their presentation planning and tells them that groups need to communicate and work together and bring their group planning to next lesson. Next lesson will be a reading lesson on Oklahoma University Massacre

Students put the time table, schedule and expectation question sheet in their binder. Student decide on the subject of their presentation. Students think of group tasks that goes along with this project. (mindmapping) Students make a list of tasks and divide them.

Homework: make a typed A4 group presentation plan and bring to next lesson. Study vocab list.

Materials: Text: Oklahoma University Massacre Text questions and answering sheets Note book and binder Smart board

Starting situation: Last lesson students worked on a group assignment where they had to discuss and make their project planning. In this lesson they have to hand it in for a GO/ NO GO situation

Students have worked on and studied a topic related Affective learning objectives: vocab list. The students can - ask simple questions for information and clarification. Personal learning objectives: The teacher can Provide think aloud strategies during reading. Can emphasize on key strategies including questioning, predicting, summarizing clarifying and associate the unknown with what is known.
