merupakan hal yang sangat penting bagi setiap manusia, agar bisa melakukan setiap aktivitas tanpa mengalami kelelahan berlebih. Kebugaran jasmani sendiri yang berkaitan dengan kapasitas fisik salah satunya adalah kebugaran muskuloskeletal. Salah satu komponen kebugaran muskuloskeletal adalah daya ledak otot. Daya ledak otot sendiri bisa ditingkatkan dengan berbagai latihan diantaranya latihan pliometrik dan weight training seperti push up. Tujuan : (1) untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan pliometrik push up terhadap daya ledak otot lengan, (2) untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan konvensional push up terhadap daya ledak otot lengan, (3) untuk mengetahui perbedaan latihan pliometrik push up dengan konvensional push up terhadap daya ledak otot lengan. Rancangan penelitian : two group pre-test and post-test design. Subyek : Mahasiswa D IV Fisioterapi Reguler Politeknik Kesehatan Surakarta angkatan 2010. Jumlah sempel sebanyak 51 orang yang dibagi secara acak menjadi dua kelompok yaitu kelompok I yang mendapat latihan pliometrik push up (n=26 orang, tetapi 2 orang mengalami drop out pada kelompok I sehingga n=24 orang laki-laki=6 orang dan perempuan=18 orang) didapatkan rerata umur 20,46 0,658 ,min=19 th dan maks=22 th dan kelompok II mendapatkan latihan konvensional push up (n=25 orang, tetapi 2 orang pada kelompok II mengalami drop out sehingga n=23 orang, laki-laki=6 orang dan perempuan=17 orang), didapatkan rerata umur 20.7 0,559, min=20th dan maks=22 th. Tempat dan waktu : Penelitian ini dilakukan di kampus II jurusan fisioterapi Politeknik Kesehatan Surakarta, pada bulan Februari sampai dengan April 2013 Hasil : Uji statistik dengan wilcoxon test pada kelompok I didapat nilai p = 0,000 yang berarti ada perbedaan daya ledak otot lengan yang bermakna antara sebelum dan setelah latihan pliometik push up. Uji analisis dengan wilcoxon test pada kelompok II didapat nilai p = 0,000, sehingga ada perbedaan daya ledak otot lengan yang bermakna antara sebelum dan setelah latihan konvensional push up dan nilai akhir Uji analisis untuk membandingkan nilai daya ledak otot lengan kelompok I dan kelompok II sesudah perlakuan dengan mann whitney test didapat nilai p = 0,467, hal ini berarti tidak ada perbedaan pengaruh yang bermakna antara latihan pliometrik push up dan latihan konvensional push up. Kesimpulan : Latihan pliometrik push up berpengaruh terhadap daya ledak otot lengan, latihan konvensional push up berpengaruh terhadap daya ledak otot lengan, tidak ada perbedaan pengaruh yang bermakna antara latihan pliometrik push up dengan konvensional push up. Own physical fitness that relates to the physical capacity of the musculoskeletal fitness is one of them. One component of musculoskeletal fitness is muscular explosive power. Explosive power of the muscle itself can be upgraded with a variety of exercises such as plyometrics and weight training exercises such as push ups. Objective: (1) to know the effect of plyometrics push up on explosive power arm muscles, (2) to know the effect of conventional push up on explosive power arm muscles, (3) to determine differences in practice plyometrics push-ups with the conventional push up on explosive power of muscle arm. Design research: two group pre-test and post-test design. Subject: Regular physiotherapy student D IV Surakarta Health Polytechnic of 2010. Sempel number as many as 51 people were divided randomly into two groups: group I, which received plyometrics workout push up (n = 26, but 2 people had dropped out in the first group so that n = 24 men = 6 and women = 18) obtained a mean age of 20.46 0.658, min = 19 years old and max = 22 years old and group II get a conventional push-up exercise (n = 25 people, but two people in the second group had to drop out so that n = 23, men = 6 and women = 17), mean age 20.7 gained 0,559, min =20 years old and max = 22 years old. Place and time: This study was conducted at campus II physiotherapy department Politeknik Kesehatan Surakarta, on February to April 2013. Results: Statistical test with Wilcoxon test in group I obtained value p = 0.000, which means that there are differences in explosive power between meaningful arm muscles before and after exercise Plyometrics push ups. Test analysis with Wilcoxon test in group II obtained value p = 0.000, so there is a difference explosive power arm muscles significantly between before and after the conventional push-up exercises and final value analysis test to compare the value of explosive power arm muscles group I and group II after treatment with Mann Whitney test obtained value p = 0.467, this means that there is no significant difference between the effect of plyometrics exercises and conventional exercise push up push up. Conclusion: Plyometrics workout push up effect on the explosive power arm muscles, exercise push up effect on the conventional explosive power arm muscles, there was no significant difference in effect between drills plyometrics conventional push-ups with push ups.
