Manoeuvres Turn in the Road Position near as possible to kerb. All-round checks.

Move off putting on full lock, continue as far as possible, keeping up checks, and straighten the wheel just before coming to a stop. Check round again, and reverse with full lock in the opposite direction, looking out the back window. When nearing the kerb, take off turns. Repeat if required. Last check out the side window before moving off. Bay Park Position car about a cars width out, with the 3rd line in the middle of the side window. All-round checks, and keep them up. Start reversing, looking out the back, and put full lock on. As you come into the space, use the mirrors to see how it looks, adjusting as necessary. Just before the car is straight, take off the turns. Secure the car. Parallel Park Position the car with rear wheels parallel to the car in front. Check all round, reverse back, putting on one turn. When front wing mirror is parallel with the back of the car in front, take off the turn. Check round. Keep moving back, and when the pavement line hits the top of the door handle in the mirror (about a foot). Stop, check distance. Put full lock on and continue back. Just as the parking ref point is approaching, start taking the turns off in half turn increments, to finish with the wheels straight. Secure the car. Reversing Round a Corner Indicate halfway across the junction, and pull up a bit past turning point, 20-30 cm away from kerb. Select reverse, all round checks, and move back to point of turn. Stop. Allround check again. Move backwards putting on turns (often works), and keep up checks, switching attention between the mirror and round the car. Adjust if necessary with quarter turns. As the car comes parallel with the kerb, straighten the wheels up and leave a couple of cars length before the junction. Secure the car.
