Kim, the Hero

This is the story of Kim and how she single-handedly, killed not one but two snakes. It is true that she was helped by the wife of Zena , the squirrel. Kim was a gold eagle. She has golden feathers that cover the back of its head and neck. The rest of her body is brown. She had a fierce looking eye. She had a very sharp claw, long and sharp beaks and wide wings. It was a sunny hot day and Kim was curled up in his big snug nest together with her parents, when suddenly a strong wind blows, the strong wind destroy the branches of the tree and the her big snug nest was blown away. She spread her wings and struggle away to fly, since she was a new born baby bird she cant fly high. When she managed to fly a little, another strong wind came, and she was caught off guard, because of that she fall from the sky and end up in a huge garden. She did not know how long she lay, till she opened his eyes again and look up at the sun shining on her. She looked around carefully. You see, every young animal are very curious, and Kim was the most curious of a lot. Kim looked around and finds herself in a garden. She could see human faces looking at her-a girl and her parents. The girl said, I think she is dead, lets bury her. Dont be so rushed, replied the mother. She may not be dead. Lets take her into the house. Then well see whether we can revive her. Kim was carried into the house .the father lifted her up and give her a shake. Shes not dead, announced the father. The little bird is only dizzy. Wrap her up in a blanket and let her rest and gain her strength. A few minutes later, Kim regains her strength and began chirping. Shes alive! shouted by the girl. The father warned her daughter, Dont scared her sit back and watch what she does. Kim flies out of the blanket, shook and scratched herself to flip up her wings and then quickly fly into the girls shoulder. Oh father, the girl cried, shes tickling me! Meg, keep still and watch her. Kim was not interested in the girl, so she flies down. I think we should give him something to eat, said the Father. Shell soon become tame and youll see her flying in and out of the house.

Kim was given a piece of banana. She seemed to like it much that she all eats it all up. She flies excitedly. There was so much to see! Kim got into all types of trouble as she went flying and wandering everywhere. She nearly drowned into the bath tub, and nearly burned the tip of her feathered wings as she fly towards the burning cigar. That night she went into Megs bed, but she was too restless a bird to stay in one place. Whenever she heard a slightest noise, she had to go and find out what or who had made a noise. That done, she returned to Megs bed. Thats where the girls parents found her, her little blue eyes wide awake. Megs mother was worried. I hope she wont hurt our girl. She said worriedly. Dont worry. That little animal will not hurt allow anything to come near your girl, not even a snake. That was enough to scare the mother, and she went to bed very worried, because she had heard that there were snakes in the garden. Kim wakes up early in the morning. The family took turns to feed her a good breakfast. Then she flies off to inspect the garden. It was a big garden. Kim was pleased to see the beautiful garden. Suddenly she heard Zena and his wife crying. Zena was a squirrel. Kim went to the tree where the squirrel had built their nest. They have filled their nest with nuts, seeds and buds for food. They sat there in their nest and cried. Why do you cry? Kim asked. The wicked Tap ate up one of our babies cried Zena. How? it felt out of the nest Who is Pat? Before the squirrels could answer, Kim heard a low hiss. Then she saw Pat, the snake. I am Pat, he said. Everyone man, animal and birds fears me, you too must fear me. Kim looked at the snake and was frightened, but only for a moment. She remembered that her mother had often feed her snake meat, and had taught her that every eagle must fight and eat snakes. Pat knew this to be true, so he too was afraid. He knew that an eagle in the garden meant death for the snake, sooner or later. Pat wanted to catch Kim, so he jumped towards Kim to take a bite.

Suddenly Zena screamed, Look behind you! Kim didnt waste her time. She spread her long wings and glide to the air, and dive towards Pat. Kim has very sharp claws, so Kim fly down and catches Pat with her claws then she used her long sharp beaks to tear Pat apart. Pat died. Kim went back to the house, quite pleased with himself for killing the snake. That gives her more confidence, even though she was still little. Meg ran down to give her something to eat. Just then, something thin small wriggled on the ground. It seemed to be a snake, whose bite is so dangerous. Kim saw it at once and her eyes grew with anger. The snake was quick and it almost bites Meg. It rose in the air to strike out Kim but missed. As Meg show the fight she began to scream come out! Quick! Her parents heard her cry and run out. Kim also heard the scream. She turned and watched as the snake rose again to strike. Kim was ready. She flies up and, scratches the snake with her claws. She dug her claws behind its back and tears the snake apart. She returned to the house as a Hero.

This little animal has saved my daughters life. The mother cried as she picked her up and hugged her. The Father also praised her. Kim enjoyed all the attention she got, though she did not understand the commotion all about. She was the greatest hero for them, but she knew her job was not over. She would always look out for snakes or else she would be killed.
