AS NICE.
MAKE ONE WALL A FEATURE WALL

Look around you and see which wall stands out from the rest. Paint this wall a dominant colour and give it a texture or pattern. This wall will become your feature wall and the main point of attraction in the room. The remaining three walls can now be painted with a matching colour. Do this for each room.
Choose the wall with the least clutter and the most visibility. Ideally, a wall that has no doors or windows.
Once you've decided on a wall, you can begin choosing the colours and textures for your feature wall.
IMPACT OF LIGHT AND COLOUR

Light can really change the way your room looks. Warm yellow bulbs will give the room a cosy atmosphere while white lights will create a fresh, airy feel. Choose lights that go with your colours. What to do before applying paint?

Interior Surfaces
New Painting
The wall surfaces should be cured well before painting. For interior surfaces curing of 6 months is recommended for best results. For best performance of your paint, check whether the wall surface is alkaline (ph value less than 11) with a ph paper. Check for microbial growth. Look out for structural cracks. If present, re-plaster the area. Check for seepage or leakage. If present arrest it at the source with the help of a efficient plumber. Look for undulations on wall.

Use the checklist below to prepare your walls before painting.
Exterior Surfaces
New Painting
The wall surfaces should be cured well before painting. For exterior surfaces curing of 35 days is recommended. For best paint performance, check whether the wall surface is alkaline (ph value less than 11) with a ph paper. Check for seepage or leakage. If present, arrest it at the source with the help of a efficient plumber. Check for cracks on the wall surface. Structural cracks should be filled with cement and sand mixed in 1:3 ratio. Check for porous chalky wall surfaces. Use exterior primer or exterior sealer to remedy this.
Dampness on the walls?

First, check to see if there is dampness on the wall surface from water seepage. If you find any dampness, repair the leaking pipes and other sources of moisture.
How to get rid of surface irregularities?

Walls sometimes have holes, dents or cracks. To get a smooth perfect finish fill these up with a mixture of cement and sand.
What to keep in mind while repainting?

In case you are painting your home again make sure that the old paint is removed from the walls with sandpaper. If you apply new plaster, give it 7-21 days so that it dries properly and smoothes out. Paint only after that.

Dust from traffic can dull your walls. A light water wash is the best solution for this. Choose a paint with high dust resistance to keep your exteriors like new.

Good looking doors and windows can really add to the overall look of your home. Care for them just like you would for your walls. The hot sun can cause enamel paint on your windows, doors and grills to lose its gloss. Its a good idea to apply a single coat of paint once in every 2 years.
How to correctly dilute the paint ?

Before paint is applied it must be diluted with either water (for walls) or Mineral Turpentine Oil (for doors, windows and grills). See the Directions for Use on each paint can for exact dilution and drying time.
How important is ventilation?

Make sure there is good ventilation while painting. Keep your doors and windows open.
It is a good idea to clean your indoor walls regularly to keep them fresh looking. You can wipe off stains caused due to sauce, tea etc. with a piece of cloth soaked in detergent solution. Needless to say, you need to clean the stains as soon as the damage is done.
