pray-as-you-go

ednesday 31 st of July is the feast day of St Ignatius Loyola who founded the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) in 1540, with nine companions.

A few years ago, for the week running up to the Feast of St Ignatius, Pray-as-you-go took the form of a five-day Novena (using the term a little loosely!) a programme of meditations in the Ignatian tradition, with each day building on the previous one, allowing the user to go a little deeper than is usually possible in our short, daily prayer sessions. For the past few years we have chosen to make this five-day programme available again, not replacing the daily sessions this time, but as an added option. If you have followed this five day Novena before, do consider doing so again St Ignatius was a strong advocate of the value of repeating a prayer exercise to notice if it feels different a second, third, or even fourth or fifth time, allowing you to draw more grace from it.
