Hall Pass Policy: Do not expect to use the hall pass during class. You have a 5 minute passing period, use your time wisely. Emergency situations will be handled on a case by case basis. If emergencies are happening every day, your bathroom privileges may be revoked.

Electronics Policy: Neither Nampa School District 131 nor I are responsible for the potential loss, theft, or damage to electronic devices. As such, it is highly encouraged for students to leave valuables at home. In the event that a device is needed for urgent or emergency contact, it is expected that the device remains out of sight and silent unless prior permission has been given. Food and Drink Policy: I understand that occasionally you may be hungry during class. Because of this you may eat in class as long as it does not become a nuisance. Crunchy chips and other loud foods are unacceptable in my class and you will be asked to place them in the garbage if they become distracting. In addition to the food policy, a clear bottle of water is the only acceptable drink allowed in my classroom and all others will be placed on a table at the front of the room or disposed of. Class Attendance and Participation Class attendance is essential in acquiring knowledge and seeking clarification. Participation and engagement in class discussion is the vehicle that deepens understanding and increases the value and substance of the content explored. Being prepared with class readings and assignments will assist the student with the foundation and the knowledge to contribute and participate effectively. Academic Integrity: It is a goal of Nampa High School to produce human beings who not only become productive members of society, but who also maintain a firm moral fiber. Academic integrity is the act of not engaging in the following practices: 1. Cheating in its various forms, whether copying another students work, allowing your own to be copied, using unauthorized aids on an examination, submitting as your own another persons work, and rescheduling an exam relying on a false excuse; 2. Plagiarizing, i.e., presenting as your own the words or ideas of another person, including inadequate documentation of sources (electronic, Internet or print) and excessive dependence on the language of sources even when documented, relying on a similar order of sentences while altering a few words or word order; 3. Submitting the same work for more than one course or assignment without prior written approval from the instructor; 4. Using copyrighted material without appropriate citation or copying software or media files (music, movies, etc.) without permission; 5. Fabricating data. This includes falsifying or manipulating data to achieve desired results, reporting results for experiments not done or falsifying citations in research reports; 6. Denying other students access to academic information whether within the classroom, library or computer lab; 7. Destroying, altering, or tampering with another students work to impede academic progress; 8. Stealing problem solutions from a professor or computer file; 9. Falsely reporting completion of reading assignments. Discipline for the preceding instances of academic integrity will be handled on a case by case basis up to, and including, referral to the Dean of Students.

Standards Based Grading: The Common Core Standards were adopted by the Idaho State Legislature making them mandatory for student evaluation in core classes. Scoring on assignments will, therefore, be based on demonstration of skill level for each standard. These skills will be taught through formative daily assignments and assessed through composition and tests. A B C D F 90-100 80-89 70-79 60-69 0-59
