3rd A significant number of famous speeches delivered by sometime famous and other times not so famous individuals have been collected for this presentation project. Some of the speeches you may recognize while others you may find unfamiliar. For this project, each student will select a speech, research the origin and purpose of the speech (who, when, where, why, and to whom), and then present a 1-minute excerpt (of your choosing) from that speech.

Presentation Structure: A BRIEF INTRODUCTION: In your introduction, include information from your research by answering the following questions: Who: Who wrote and delivered the speech When: When was the speech delivered Where: Where was the speech first delivered (the location) Why: Why was the speech written and delivered (the purpose of the speech) To Whom: To whom was the speech intended (a group of people?, for political purposes?, for social purposes?, as a campaign?, etc.) BODY OF SPEECH: 1. 2. Select a 1-minute portion of the speech Rehearse delivering your speech until you are very familiar with the wording and the intent (emotionally and physically) of the original speaker. Time your selection to make sure it is one (1) minute in length. 1-minute-----not more and certainly not less. Rehearse your speech until you have a 1-minute presentation. 3. Present your 1-minute selection to the class.
