Aim of this activity: The aim of this activity is for you to have an interview with a teacher handling your area of concentration/major. In the interview, you will ask about his/her experience of utilizing instructional materials in the learning tasks. After the interview, you will answer accomplish the task found in Part 2 of this sheet.
Instructions: 1) Look for a teacher who is currently teaching your major/area of concentration. (Ex. A SPED teacher, pre-school teacher, high school Mathematics teacher, and the like) 2) When s/he agrees to have this interview with you, please indicate the needed information in the template below.
Form A: UTILIZATION OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
Grade/Year Level Taught: Grade One Subject: All subjects (Advisory teacher) Best teaching practices used in the subject: (You can ask what strategies and methods s/he uses) The teacher identified using of colorful visual aids as her way of teaching the pupils. It is in the visual aids that the pupils are showing interest to her lesson. With this, it is partnered by secondary reinforcement which the use of praises and gestures in recognizing the effort of her pupils when they do good works. The teacher also uses educational movies and televised shows to introduce the topic in an integrated way. Due to the fact that most of her pupils are fun of watching television, she incorporate educational movie like of Sineskwela so that pupils can grasp the concept easily. Reasons for using these teaching practices: The reasons for using these teaching practices are: She is teaching adventurous pupils. Children at this age love to learn in strange ways. They tend to imprint lesson and discussion in unique way of delivering it. The pupils are hyperactive. In order to catch their attention she will use colorful visual aids to maintain their focus on the lesson. Her pupils are mostly visual learners and every time they are interested in the aids of the teacher. It is good that the students are showing the kind of interest in the lesson because when a person is eager to learn, he or she can easily learn at his or her best.

What instructional materials are not currently used by the teacher but are being explored and are expected to be of great help in the teaching and learning of the subject? The use of power point presentation This can help teacher to vary her teaching skills. They may not concentrate their strategy in one area of type of discussing. Students are new to this way of teaching, additional factor to their interest to learn the subject. Concept Mapping It helps pupils to immediately understand the concept. Pupil will learn the concept though this especially if the concept map is partnered by pictures and colorful writings.
