Presented by Father Hammer holds a Doctor of Ministry from Catholic University, a Masters in Church History from St. Johns University (living 9 months in a suburb of Jerusalem studying and traveling throughout Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza, as well as trips to Egypt, Greece, and Turkey). Served as Director of Ecumenical & Interreligious Relations (20012005), Served as a member of the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops and Islamic Society of North America, co-sponsored Midwest Catholic-Muslim Dialogue. Currently serves as Pastor of the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral & St. Michaels (Fairfield).
Introduction to
Mohammed Shams
came to America in 1964 from Iran. He taught at Bardstown High School for over twenty years and is retired. He is a practicing Muslim and serves as assistant to the Chaplain at Flaget Hospital.
