Identify the constant, independent, and dependent variable in the following statements.

The farther a ball drops, the higher it will bounce.

The greater the amount of soap in a soap and water mixture, the bigger a soap bubble can be blown.

Independent: amount of soap Dependent: size of soap bubble Constant: type of soap, amount of water Design an investigation to test this hypothesis.

What exactly will be changed? How will it be changed? The amount of soap will be different in different soapwater mixtures. I mixture can have 1 tablespoon of soap, the other 2 tablespoons of soap, and the last one 3 tablespoons of soap in 4 tablespoons of water.

What exactly will be measured? How will it be measured? The size of the soap bubbles will be measured.
One blows bubbles with each solution and takes a picture of the bubbles. One can then place the pictures next to each other and compare the relative size but also use a ruler to measure sizes.

changed. One can tape a ruler upright on a wall and then drop the ball from different heights indicated on the ruler.

What exactly will be measured? How will it be measured? One will place white paper behind the ruler
and observer very carefully where the maximum bounce height is when the ball bounces back and place a mark with a marker on the paper. Use a different colored marker for each bounce height to be able to compare them better.
