The multifunctional test software Test&Motion provides a high degree of flexibility to the tool setter, especially when it comes

to hardware and test progress. Most diverse hardware configurations e.g. different strain transducers, can be driven and depending on the selected test - can be activate with a DOLI External Digital Controller. By calling up the start file (SVL-file), the pre-defined settings for hardware, sample geometrics, test progress and test documentation are activated. After that, the user must perform very little entries, only, which are pre-defined, also. In the simplest case, he has to enter the sample number, only. Test settings concerning the strain controlled tensile test are displayed here

Within the elastic range a strain speed measured by the strain transducer - of 0,00025/s (=1,5%/min) should be driven according to standards. If Rp0,2 (End V1) is reached, the software will ask the user to take off the strain transducer, if the strain transducer in question is a so called clip-on extensometer. Afterwards, the testing instrument will be driven with constant crosshead speed, which according to standards results from the known strain speed and the sample length (length of the parallel, reduced crosssection of the sample). For a test length of 120mm, this thus will result in a target crosshead speed of 1.8 mm/min. The difficult task of switching from strain control into position control, can be parameterized in form of a time frame, in order to reach a bumpless transfer. These parameters are entered in the software screen Test progress. A machine stop in order to take off the strain transducer manually with a predefined strain or load is possible, but will only be practicable, if maximum load and force of strain mustnt need to be determined, due to the fact that the sample material remains in flow during the waiting time.
