h c
h cos c
h c p p cos
h sin c
p sin
We know,
After multiplying the two equations by c, we get: p ccos = h - hcos p sin = hsin
By squaring each of these equations and adding the new ones together the angle is eliminated.
Next we equate the two expressions for total energy of a particle E = KE + mc2 E = m2c4 + p2c2
Squaring and equating: (KE + mc2)2 = m2c4 + p2c2 p2c2 = KE2 + 2mc2KE
Previously we had obtained: p2c2 = (h)2 2(h)(h)cos + (h)2 p2c2 = (h)2 2(h)(h) + (h)2 + 2mc2(h - h)
The above equation is simpler when expressed in terms of wavelength . And the dividing it with 2h2c2 we have:
mc h c
= c c (1-cos)
Simplifying: - = h(1-cos) mc
