Dear Chairman Obey and Ranking Member Lewis:

I am requesting funding for the San Diego County Regional Gang Enforcement
Collaborative in fiscal year 2010.

The entity to receive funding for this project is the San Diego County Sheriff s
Department, located at: 9621 Ridgehaven Court, San Diego, CA 92123.

Funding would be used to foster cooperation, instantaneous data collection and

communication among street-level officers from numerous different law
enforcement jurisdictions. This project deserves federal funding because of its
proven track record at reducing violent crime and gang activities in other portions
of San Diego County.
