How to calculate the rise time of a sine wave?

N Member since:September 26, 2009Total points:256 (Level 2) That is where the rise time is the interval between the moment of time when the signal reaches its 10% level and the moment of time when the signal reaches its 90% level where V_ppk = V_max - V_min 10% level == V_min +.1*V_ppk 90% level == V_min + .9*V_ppk Rise time => time in between 10% level and 90% level My hypothesis is that the rise time is approximately 30% of the period of the sine wave. => .3*T Any help on how to algebraically express this calculation is appreciated

90% level = -1 + .9*2 = +.8 ArcSin(-.8) = -.9273 ArcSin(.8) = .9273 Rise time = .9273 - (-.9273) = 1.8546 The period (T) of a sine wave with frequency = 1.0 is 2* The normalized rise time (t_r) of the sine wave is: t_r = 1.8546/(2*) = .2952*T Askers Rating: Askers Comment:thanks!

A sine wave with amplitude 1.0 has: V_min = -1.0 V_max = 1.0 V_ppk = 2.0 10% level = -1 + .1*2 = -.8
