- Nursing in the Philippines seems to have been started by the religious FRAY JUAN CLEMENTE who founded SAN

LAZARO HOSPITAL. He devoted his life in performing nursing works.

-The University of Sto.Tomas started classes in PRACTICANTES DE MEDICINA, it is a two-year course.

- Initiated by Dr. Bacala and wrote that graduates had to pass a REVALIDA before they were given certificates - Graduates can perform minor surgery in towns without doctors and treat minor ailments

-This was an amendment of RA 877 last June 18, 1966 - Members of the Board of Examiners for Nurses was increased from three to five - Members of the Board were to be appointed by the President of the Philippines - Masters Degree for the members of the Board and Deans of the college of nursing; before it was only BSN

-This is the Philippine Nursing Law of 1991
