October 7-11, 2013

What were learning
Our Bible stories for this week are Jacobs Dream and Jacob and Laban. In math we are learning our double facts (1+1, 2+2, etc.), working with pattern blocks, and writing number sentences. Social studies includes studies on communities. We are exploring plants and their needs in science. Language arts includes the et word family, punctuation, and blends.

Assignments
This week math flash cards will be sent home to practice. Your child will store them in his/her file box. Over the year, more and more will be added to their collection. Please practice flash cards at home and then send them back to school in the file box. We will be using them at school as well. Thank you! Important Notes

This Friday is a Collaboration Day; school is dismissed at noon. Friday, October 11th, is our Harvest Festival from 6-9 p.m. Please come for some fun and bring your friends! There is room for all! Book Orders will go home this week. Orders are due October 25th. I will be sending home a note that gives details for ordering online. I include the flyers for kids to page through, but orders are completed online. Please make sure to return your field trip form and payment for the Childrens Discovery Museum. Thank you!
