Natural gas forms when tiny sea creatures die, their remains settle to the ocean floor, and are then buried by sediment
Petroleum
1. A mixture of hydrocarbons in the form of liquid. Separated into different products like gasoline, jet fuel, kerosene, diesel fuel. Forms the same way natural gas does! 2. Provide more than 40% of the worlds energy 3. Very valuable sometimes called black gold, Also known as crude oil
Coal
1. Was once the main source of energy in the US. Examples: peat, lignite, bituminous coal 2. A solid fossil fuel made from partly decayed plant material. Coal forms when swamp plants die, sink to the bottom of the swamp, and then decay. 3. Burning Coal is harmful to the environment
