Listening Activities

Aim Helps to develop pupils ability to listen to information with understanding & precision.

1. Make sure pupils understand clearly what they are expected to do. 2. Provide a context for listening. 3. Pupils can listen to the same listening input many times. 4. Prepare your pupils for the main listening task by doing plenty of pre-listening task.

Pre-listening Activities 1. Looking at pictures, maps, diagrams, graphs. 2. Reviewing vocabulary. 3. Reading something relevant. 4. Constructing semantic webs.

While-listening Activities 1. Listening with visuals. 2. Filling in graphs & charts. 3. Listening for the gist. 4. Completing cloze exercises.
