Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact Rationale/Reflection NAEYC Standard:

STANDARD 7.EARLY CHILDHOOD FIELD EXPERIENCES Field experiences and clinical practice are planned and sequenced so that candidates develop the knowledge, skills and professional dispositions necessary to promote the development and learning of young children across the entire developmental period of early childhood in at least two of the three early childhood age groups (birth age 3, 3 through 5, 5 through 8 years) and in the variety of settings that offer early education (early school grades, child care centers and homes, Head Start programs) (NAEYC, 2010).

Brief Description of Evidence:


I created a formal resume of my experience in early education and saved photos of myself working in a variety of settings in early education or photos of children that I have worked with ranging in ages of birth through 8 years. These experiences have been documented to show my field experiences and clinical practice in a variety of settings with age groups of birth through 8 years.

Analysis of What I Learned:


Through completion of working and volunteering in a variety of early childhood settings, I have been able to develop knowledge, skills, and professionalism that will allow me to promote the development and learning of young children throughout the developmental period of early childhood age groups ranging from birth to 8 years within a variety of settings in the early childhood education field.

How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the NAEYC Standard:


My field experience and clinical practice is shown through my formal resume and multiple pictures from a variety of locations with age groups ranging from birth through 8 years old where I have gained important skills and a professional disposition necessary in promoting the development and learning of young child.
