Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students

School Based Traineeships 2013/14


The NSW Department of Finance and Services is offering School Based Traineeships for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in 2014 with the work element commencing in late 2013. The positions are based close to public transport near Central Railway Station. A traineeship with the Department helps students to develop technical, personal and organisational skills required for a career either in the Department, the Public Sector or the broader community. Students will also receive a nationally accredited qualification which will further support them in preparing for a career.

Formal accreditation nationally recognised Nationally accredited qualification Certificate 2 in Business Administration. More confidence in applying and seeking other employment opportunities. On the job and off the job training You will be required to undertake 700 hours paid employment over the period of the Traineeship. Work is usually one day a week during school terms. Hours can also be performed during school holidays.
