Students: Assessment (How will you monitor progress and know students have successfully met outcomes?) Daily: Do Now checks for understanding of the previous days lesson. Written assignments and quizzes check for understanding of daily lessons. This Week: Answering questions about the Kite Runner, taking a quiz; Students will complete a creative narrative with a main character modeled on a character in the book. In writing this narrative, students show an understanding of a complex character. For Informational Texts: Answering questions about a news article that requires information that is explicit and information that must be inferred. Also, students must summarize main ideas and supporting details and write them down. Students will fill out reading packet that focuses on vocabulary, comprehension, inferring information, identifying and summarizing main ideas and supporting details.
