Common Core/ NM Content Standards: NMVA1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7,8 Essential Question(s): How do I understand perspective so that my drawings appear 3-dimensional? How do I use my imagination to create a fantasy city utilizing one or two point perspective? Other considerations (modifications, accommodations, acceleration, etc.): Students who are having trouble with resist painting will get assistance from me More advanced students can do a series of pieces Connections (prior learning/prior knowledge): Students are familiar with resists from science class, and watercolors from previous art classes.

Resources/Materials Teacher: One and two point perspective drawings by various artists, Perspective Handout

Students: Pencil, colored pencil, 12 x 18 white paper Assessment (How will you monitor progress and know students have successfully met outcomes?) Daily: Daily observations of students working on projects. This Week: Completion of sketch Unit: Final perspective drawing and participation in critique

Time allotted MONDAY 11/18 Learning Target- TSW learn about how to do a sketch for a vibrant oil resist painting. TSW know this when his/her sketch is complete.

TUESDAY 11/19 Learning Target- TSW learn how to use chalk pastel to commence an oil resist painting. TSW know this when his/her chalk pastel sketch is complete.

WEDNESDAY 11/20 TargetTSW learn about using oil crayon to create a vibrant oil resist painting. TSW know this when his/her piece is almost entirely covered in oil pastel. THURSDAY 11/21 Learning Target- TSW learn how to use watercolor in a complementary color to do a wash on a resist painting. TSW know this when his/her wash is complete. FRIDAY 11/22 Learning Target- TSW learn how to participate effectively in a critique. TSW know this when he/she gives several strong comments to peers. MONDAY 11/23
