On most counts, Dare County is a healthy place to live. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation publishes an Annual County Health Rankings Report comparing the 100 counties in North Carolina. For the past four years, Dare County has ranked in the top 10 for health outcomes. Maybe life really is better by the sea!

A healthy community doesnt just happen. Every now and then we lift the anchor, test the waters and make sure we are on a true course. Just as the tides and the weather change the sea, things are constantly changing on land that effect the health of our community and the people who live here. We test these waters every three years by conducting a Community Health Assessment. Please join us at one of the events listed below to learn more about the results of the 2013 Dare County Community Health Assessment.

Events are co-sponsored by The Outer Banks Hospital, the Dare County Department of Public Health and The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce. There is no charge to attend these events. Participants are welcomed and encouraged to make a donation to the Community Care Clinic of Dare.
