Research: Barry Lewis 10/22/2013 These pictures are all close ups and focus on the different colours,

textures and patterns in the environment. This has been done to document city life and captures aspects that stand out to us within our environments through elements of still life. They all stand out as they are unusual in the environment and focus on the irregular aspects of our surrounding, thus portraying visual noise. Research: Antoni Tapies 10/24/2013 Antoni Tapies is an artist inspired by contemporary art and created pieces of mixed media using materials such as cardboard, paper, threads, ash, newspaper and rope. The pieces he created all show texture and the limited colours used show the concentration of emotions in his work. Tapies work can be described as abstract expressionist as he wanted to show spontaneity and improvisation away from traditional art. First Shoot 10/24/2013 I took these pictures with the idea of interesting textures and colours of the environment. I choose to do closeups so it was evident of what my images were of but still hid the identity of the objects used. To edit my pictures I increased the contrast so that the textures were more apparent. I wanted to show aspects of a small area, which shows through the objects i chose. The rustic and grittiness of each object, rather than showing an urban uncared for place shows rather the isolation and hidden beauty that the environment holds. I liked these images because they gave an insight to the textures and colours in my area and to develop these I would focus on more parts of London and remove the idea of colour focusing on only textures. Aaron Siskind 10/29/2013 Aaron Siskind was considered to be a part of the Abstract Expressionist movement and was inspired by nature and architecture. His images show emotions expressed through the textures and depth of tones in his work. His pictures all being black and white, correspond to the sad and eerie mood he was trying to portray which link to the objects used as they all express the idea of neglect and abandonment. Second Shoots Finals 11/08/2013 These pictures were mostly inspired by Aaron Siskind and showed the grittyness of london, This feeling is enhanced by the black and white as they bring out the textures and tones and give a dark atmosphere......

Devel opment from shoot 2 11/18/2013 I created a brand identity and used my pictures as a base for these graphics. I wanted the theme of my brand to be based on the concept of my photography which shows the grittiness of London however i wanted to show this in a positive way which is emphasised by the colours I used and the poses of the silhouettes which are fun and quirky. I called my brand Urban Living as my pictures are all documenting still life that are commonly seen in the city and represent what living in London. Urban Living Devel opment 11/21/2013 I decided that i wanted to further my development into brand identity and created a final piece for this development. I experimented with different colours that i thought suited my image and kept the colour theme limited. These are the final colour ideas. I ended up choosing this one as the original logo i created had the colours scheme of red black and white but i wanted to add another colour to contrast against my 'visual noise' image and not overpower it with bright and strong colours.
