Installation Options

Following are the various items that are available on the CD-ROM (on Windows, the options appear on the AutoPlay menu). Depending on your operating system and version of SPSS, some options may not be available. Use this document to determine what you need to install and where to nd the appropriate installation instructions on the CD-ROM in the Installation Documents folder.
Option SPSS Do I Need It? Install this if you want a statistical and data management package for analysts and researchers. Install SPSS before the other options for SPSS. Install this if you want to open Viewer (.spv) les on a computer without SPSS. Install this if you want a powerful and easy-to-use structural equation modeling (SEM) application. Amos requires an additional license and is available only for Windows. Install this if you need the DataDirect ODBC and JDBC database drivers. This is available only for Windows and Linux. If Python is not already installed on your computer, install this to program SPSS with Python. You will also need to install the SPSS-Python Integration Plug-in. The Python and Additional Modules is available only for Windows, but the plug-in is available for all platforms. Install this to program SPSS with Python. Python and Additional Modules

SPSS-Python Integration Plug-in Microsoft .NET Framework

If the .NET Framework is not already installed on your computer, install this as a requirement for the Dimensions Data Model and OLE DB Access option. This is available only for Windows. Dimensions Data Model and Install this if you need to access OLE DB or SPSS/<license type> OLE DB Access Dimensions data sources. This is available Installation Instructions.pdf only for Windows. Legacy Viewer Install this if you want to open Viewer (.spo) N/A les that were created in SPSS 15 or earlier. This is available only for Windows.
