Rationale: This activity is going to help the students practice sequencing and also I will know how well the students comprehended two of the stories. Objective: The student will demonstrate his/her ability for comprehension of the stories and to be able to sequence them. Standards: 3.2.9 Identify text that uses sequence or other logical order. 3.3.2 Analysis of Grade-Level-Appropriate Literary Text: Comprehend basic plots of classic fairy tales, myths, folktales, legends, and fables from around the world. (Core Standard ) Materials: *The Three Little Pigs sequence strip page *The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs sequence strip page *11x18 construction paper *scissors Lesson Presentation: Anticipatory Set: This will connect with the students previous learning in that they have had to pay attention and comprehend the stories in order to be able to sequence them correctly. Teaching Procedures: 1. Students will read through all the sentence strips. 2. They will need to cut apart all the sentence strips for both stories. 3. Separate the sentence strips by stories. 4. The students will then sequence the sentence strip into the correct order for each story. 5. Once the student has both stories sequenced, they will glue the strips in order on the construction paper. *glue *pencil *crayons
6. After both stories are completed the students will draw pictures to illustrate some of the sentence strips. Guided & Independent Practice: This will be an independent activity of sequencing the two stories from the students comprehension. Closure: We will review the stories and then go over the correct sequence of each story. Assessment of Student Outcomes: I will assess the outcome of this activity by grading this sequencing activity. I will know the students learned from the activity by how they do sequencing. Technology: There is not any technology used with this activity. Adaptations: The ELL and LD students will be allowed to look at the books to help them sequence the stories if they need the additional help. Evaluation:
