Motivation

Identify Topics -Where you begin? How you plan to deliver the topic/lesson to your students? Concepts (a category, set, or class with common characteristics) and or Generalizations (a statement that relates concepts to each other in general patterns) are good topics to discuss. Specify Learning objectives -What do you want students to gain from the topic? Teachers should be clear about their learning objectives before proceeding to teach the lesson. Students should be able to separate the information into smaller pieces so it comes clear. Prepare Examples and Non-examples #1-make sure they are high quality examples containing all the information the students need to reach the goal of the topic #2-Make sure students are able to tie examples to the real world/real life experiences. #3-Teachers should make sure that the students have different examples. #4-Use technology for motivation

Introduction -After the teacher has reviewed the previous days work students begin to establish the focus of the lesson and letting students know why the previous discussion led up to the current lesson. The teachers main objective is to create interest. The open-ended phase -Open ended questions are the main part of this component. This phase is what starts the students involvement. Teachers can begin presenting examples an asking students to identify patterns in them, presenting both examples and nonexamples as a whole class. The Convergent phase -Once everyone has giving their input, the teacher begins to narrow down students responses and ask specific questions which promote higher thinking for the students. Closure and Application -Teachers are now able to guide the students toward being able to verbally explain the characteristics of the concept and/or the relationship in generalization. Once applied lesson learned.

Teachers need to make sure that their learning objectives match their learning activities Teachers can also access their students by tests, quizzes, and class projects. Students should be able to repeat phrases with a similar concept.

Students are motivated by the ability to be independent, make purposeful choices, active engagement, curiosity, and semiadult responsibilities and creativity Students may be motivated to learn new material that may help them throughout school which may be useful.

So what? What is important to understand about this?

Helps students to become independent thinkers by actively doing thinking and researching on their own. The student will understand the material clearer therefore remember the subject matter.
