Criteria

Standard 3: Assessment Teachers understand and use varied assessments to inform instruction, evaluate and ensure student learning. Strengths and Weaknesses Goals for Student Teaching I provide varied assessments for students to complete throughout the course of a unit. I need to work on processing the data the assessments present, and then use that data to further differentiate and adjust my lessons. Throughout the unit, I use a small variety of assessments to regularly test my students. I need to work on developing a greater variety of assessments to use diagnostically for the students. I feel I have done a great job of modifying my instruction to meet the needs of my students. I need to get better at analyzing and implementing the interpretations I find from the results of the assessments. I have been in contact with the students, my CMT, and other colleagues about student progress within the classroom. I need to contact parents to inform them of their child's progress within the classroom. Is to create more varied assessments for the students to complete everyday and to get better at analyzing the data the assessments present to me, and implementing resolutions the data presents. My goal for Student Teaching is to incorporate new forms of formative and summative assessments in order to accurately assess my students.

3.1 Teachers are knowledgeable about assessment types, their purposes and the data they generate.

3.2 Teachers select, develop and use a variety of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments.

3.3 Teachers analyze data to monitor student progress and learning and to plan, differentiate, and modify instruction.

During Student Teaching I plan to do a better job of analyzing and implementing the results of student data from the assessments. I also plan to keep my flexibility of modifying instruction at a high point, like it is now.

3.4 Teachers collaborate and communicate student progress with students, parents, and colleagues.

During student teaching I plan to keep/increase the level of communication between the students, my CMT, and other colleagues about student progress. I also plan on implementing parent communication as well.

3.5 Teachers involve learners in selfassessment and goal setting to address gaps between performance and potential.

This is one of my weakest areas, I have not currently had the students self-assess or goal set for themselves to address their gaps between their performance or potential.

During student teaching, I will have the students self-assess themselves and set achievement goals for themselves.
