Thetechniquesthatwereusedwerestoichiometryandbalancedequations.Thesewereused becausethatishowtocalculatethetheoreticalyieldwhichiswhatwasneededinordertofind outhowmuchofeachreactantwasneededtomakebariumsulfate.Ourpercentyieldwasover 100%sothatmeansthattherewasanerrorbecausethatistoohigh.Somepossiblesourcesof errorarethatnotenoughwaterwasaddedtothemixtureinordertofilterallofthesodiumnitrate out.Thiswouldhavecausedthemassofthefinalprecipitatetobegreater.Anotherpossible erroristhatnotallthewatercouldhavebeenfilteredoutofthemixturewhichwouldhavemade ourmassofbariumsulfatetoogreat.Basedonthedata,thepatientwillhaveenoughbarium sulfateforthemedicineandtherewillbe0.312gofbariumsulfateleftover.
