Darryl Plummer Post Lesson Reflection (14-15 November 2013) 1. To what extent were lesson objectives achieved?

(Utilize assessment data to justify your level of achievement) Daily Objectives: Students will be able to (SWBAT) Prepare a study sheet that accurately reflects what will be on the Unit Test.

Students generally used their time wisely. All but a couple students had their final drafts of the Basque country essay done so they could focus entirely on studying. I also think they responded well to my doom and gloom speech about the pitfalls of not preparing. After looking at the study sheets after the test was turned in, all but 4 students had thorough to very thorough study sheets. 3 students had extremely thorough study sheets. The two students who had the most incomplete study sheets were the two students who did worst on the test, although one of these students was absent the second day of the study time. 2. What changes, omissions, or additions to the lesson would you make if you were to teach again? I would take a closer look at every students study sheet as I walked around. 4 students had incomplete study sheets. I actually didnt really expect any student to slack on filling out a cheat sheet since this is an advanced class, but I misjudged those 4 students. I think I could have pushed those 4 students into writing more information down. The students were a bit squirrely on the second day, although I did not shut down all conversation. Instead I redirected off task students. Instead, I think I should have just shut down all conversation. I think the few students that were off task were distracting others in the class that need quiet to work effectively. 3. What do you envision for the next lesson? (continued practice, reteach content, etc) End of Unit.
