KWHL Follow Up Activities

The KWHL Chart will be presented the beginning of the week during Circle Time. It is activity ! on the lesson plan.

'This activit" sho!ld be mentioned in "o!r parent letter() "y take home activity that I have made for the parents and their children was to look at the #an $iego %oo website that I had posted on the parent letter. I also want parents to get involved with the theme &ust as much as the children because I think it is not only a learning e'perience for the parents but for the parents as well. I want the parents to learn more about where their children are going for their field trip and also may encourage them to volunteer to be a chaperone during the field trip.

The first small group activity that will be used to follow up the W portion of the KWHL chart is my science activity. Many as ed if cats could see in the dar or not. This activity is called !an cats really see in the dar " The children will be viewing many different cups that # have put out for them to view. The cups indicate the amount of light a cat and person can see. $ach cup has different pupil si%e when a cat or person is in the dar . The second small group activity that will be used to follow up the W portion of the KWHL chart is my math activity. This activity is called &un with 'ig !at. ( lot as ed which cat was the biggest. #n this activity) the children will be measuring the si%e of different cats with their bodies by lin ing arms. We will measure it will string and measuring tape and label them for further reference. (t the end of the activity) the children will see which was the biggest.
