Committee Report: Leadership Team Emily Lavender

I had the privilege of serving on the Leadership Team this semester at Trace Crossings Elementary. I served along with Victoria Bye, Abbi Hope, Taylor Blair, Tabitha Whitacre, Amy Walker, and Laura Beth Jackson. Our first task was Read for the Record. We met with the music teacher at Trace Crossings to get guidance and direction on how this event was to go. Once we met, we delegated jobs to the rest of The Block. We had a few people work on decorations in the hallway, decorations in the lunch room, and then a technology team to help with Arasma and Otis. The Lunchroom decorating team met with the first grade teachers to see what they needed for their Otis performance. Our next major task was Math Night. We met with Mrs. Puchta and Mrs. Stone to see what they needed done for this night. For math night, we split up the block into different tasks. Some people were in charge of decorations, while others were in charge of the resource tables. The Block worked together and made this event great! Our final task is to plan the Cub Club Christmas/End of the Year party. We have delegated jobs and tasks among The Block. We have made a list of things that need to get done. The list includes: books for the students, decorations, goodie bags, and food. We have assigned people in each category. One additional leadership role that I took on this semester was the Scholastic Book orders. Dr. Bluiett helped me take on this task. I was in charge posting announcements and due dates for this. I was also in charge of collecting order forms and money and sending them in. I loved this task!!! I cant wait to continue it next semester.
