(b) Explain the procedure for manufacture of tiles. [8+8]

3. (a) Write about the different types of cement used in concrete.


(b) Write about water cement ratio and how it affects the properties of concrete.
(c) What do you understand by workability of concrete and describe the test to

4. (a) Explain with the help of neat sketches the English bond and Double Flemish

(b) List the advantages and disadvantages of each. [4]

5. (a) What is a spread foundation and what are the different types of spread foun-
dations?
(b) Discuss and explain the construction of any two types, with neat sketches to
illustrate your answer. [6+10]

6. (a) What is a jack arch floor? Explain the method of construction with a neat
sketch.
(b) Briefly write about the different methods for damp proofing. [8+8]
