INTRODUCTION

ATTENTION: Have you ever received an e-mail with a link for a customer service survey? MOTIVATION: The goal of developing a survey is to be able to collect results which are considered statistically reliable. It is your job to determine how you want to get the survey to the recipient. One of the nice things about SurveyMonkey is that you have multiple ways to reach the intended audience. REVIEW: During Block I, we covered the buttonology of SurveyMonkey. In addition, we discussed how to build questions with survey logic and HTML functions. The practice on the system should have provided you with a comfort level that will allow you to complete the remainder of the course with little difficulty. OVERVIEW: In your job as a Training Evaluator, you will probably only use two of the methods, so, we will only cover those two. After this block of instruction, you will know how to create a Web Link for collection and you will also know how to do a manual input of survey results. TRANSITION: Now that you have built your survey, it is important to get the survey out to the intended audience.

PRESENTATION: 1. Web Link A. Using SurveyMonkey, populated surveys, and a provided scenario, create a Web Link to collect survey responses in accordance with checklist. TRAINING METHOD(s): Lecture and Self-Paced AUDIOVISUAL AID: None (1) The use of a Web Link is the easiest method for collecting responses to a survey. (2) A URL will be created when you use a Web Link collector (a) Post Web Link on a website (b) Use as hyperlink in an e-mail (c) Post on social media (3) Create a Web Link collector (a) Click on Collect Response tab Ref: StudyGuide Workbook, Figure 2-1

2. Manual Data Entry B. Using SurveyMonkey and populated surveys, manually input survey results in accordance with checklist. (1) There will be times where you might have to administer a paper based survey. (2) Using the Manual Data Entry function will allow you use the SurveyMonkey analysis and report functions. (3) Manual Data Entry Procedures (a) Select Manual Data Entry for the Web Link collector you built. Ref: StudyGuide Workbook, Figure 2-8

(b) Click Add New Responses (c) Repeat process for each response. (4) Close a Web Link collector when youre done collecting the surveys you need. This will prevent additional responses from being populated in the SurveyMonkey database. (a) Click on Collect Response tab (b) Select the name of the collector that you want to close (c) Click on Close Collector Now and enter the name of the new collector. (d) When the message comes up asking to Block people from accessing your survey? Click on the Stop Collecting Now button. You can also personalize the message.
