Reflection on Alignments: Health Promotion Standard Alignment I believe teaching a 5K/ 10K training plan and the proper form to run aligns with standard 5, Leadership. Leadership: The health promoter leads by facilitation the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of healthy lifestyle that is shared by the health promotion community. I chose to align here because being able to facilitate and develop a plan for a 5K/10K for my class to be able to go forth and use. Also, proper form of running is key to an successful running career. Being the one to teach both the planning and the proper form makes me a leader and show great leadership skills that my class knows what I am talking about. This experienced helped me become a better at designing and leading an activity that compliments the topic that I am trying to teach. I learned that it is important for me to learn about my clients and have a strong knowledge base about them to be able to create appropriate learning experiences for them. As well as being a leader by facilitating the development of the correct running technique of each individual. What I learned about myself as a prospective educator as a result of this experience/artifact: As a result of this experience I learned that as a prospective health promotion specialist I will need to have respect for all clients and their learning styles. I will need to take the time to get to know my clients to develop lessons that will effectively teach them the skills that they need to know.
