1. We are only women we cannot fight with men. - Ismene said this on a conversation with Antigone. Ismene points out that women are no stronger physically as men. 2. Who is the man here, she or I, if this crime goes unpunished? - Creon said this to Chorus when Antigone was brought to her. He wanted revenge for his broken laws, because of his need for vengeance, Creon relinquished a harsh punishment upon her. Consequently this led to the death of his only son and wife. 3. There is no guilt in reverence for the dead This was Antigones response as Creon as he declares her guilty.

4. The only crime is pride Teiresias tells Creon of his stubbornness, very pridefull.

5. The state is the king - Creon thinks he is better than the other gods. He has too much pride that the other gods didnt like that. 6. Do not believe the you alone can be right Haimon

7. My voice is the one voice giving order in this city Creon is with a confrontation with Haimon, his son.

8. And no woman shall seduce us. If we must lose, let's lose to a man, at least. Is a woman stronger than we? Creon obsession to power and strength

9. But I have no strength to break laws that were made for public good. Ismene

10. There are honors due all the dead. Antigone
