INTRODUCTION
1. Describe the assignment, i.e. difference in phonological representation (lexeme) of learners of EFL. 2. Why the assignment is important for phonology study in the light of new paradigm in world-English phonology? 3. Describe the data that you use in terms of the communicative contexts in which the data actually occur, i.e. where & when you acquired the data; also WHO was/were involved in the communication and what was being exchanged, also how you got the data. 4. 1. Describe how your data really fit into the assignment, i.e. how the lexeme is different with any other lexeme. 2. Compare your data with the formal lexeme. 3. Describe the distinctive feature(s) of the lexeme by isolating the distinctive feature (if you have more than one distinctive features then describe each of them or you can choose to do just one. 4. Describe the distinctive feature(s) by using Phonetics book to name the sound. 5. Describe the distinctive feature(s) by using dictionary transcription to display the phones/allophones. 6. Describe the distinctive feature(s) by using minimal pairs or other words having the same phone(s)/allophone(s). 7. COMMENT 1: Which gap does your data represent? (It may be positively representative of either systematic or accidental gap, but It may also be relevant with neither two). 8. COMMENT 2: Does IPA contain all the symbols of sounds you wished to represent? Or does the phoneme you wished to realize is covered by the IPA? Reason. (Approximately 1,500 words)
