A. Breast Cancer awareness
and detection campaign was
structured at Delhi by the
charity in the months of June
and July in partnership with
FORTIS HOSPITAL

amination and early detec-
tion, Free mammograms were
conducted to provide the nec-

witnessed a huge turnout with
892 examinations and 412
mammograms.

Breast Cancer Awareness Program was held,

response from the beneficiaries.
On June, 09 the BREAST CANCER
awareness programme was organized at
Henna Asian Women’s Group, U.K The pro-
gramme was received well by the members
lof the group. There were thirty women pre-
sent. The documentaries were well roceived
and everyone agreed that they were a good
way of getting the message across to the
ladies. One member of the group thought it
was a good idea to talk about the conse-

tended with over a 1,000 people attending. More then 500 inndied leaflets were distributed and
interest inthe documentaries was shown by both men and women with messages from Pamela and
‘Yash Chopra attracting most ofthe attention,
‘The outcome from both melas shows that leaflets in the community languages as well as in Eng-
lish are in demand as in Plumstead where there is large Punjabi community all dhe leaflets inthis
language were gone by the end of the day. In Leicester there isa large Gujarati community and|
again the leaflets in this language were all finished by the end ofthe day
On 15" July 2009 by Tiffin Club of Parliamentarians at House of Common where substantial
funds were raised for the charities attended by members of parliament, Roko cancer is also
benefited from this event,
