NUMBERS :

Cardinal Numbers Cardinal number is a common number (even and odd number), we use to express amount or the number itself. Ex : 1 = one 2 = two 11 = eleven 100 1,000 1,000,000 = hundred = thousand = million

There is also one term called signed number which refers to negative number. Negative number is usually read minus.

Exercise : 1. 243, 755 2. 1800 3. $350,150.25 4. 18,546,000 5. 14,000

Ordinal Numbers Ordinal number is sequential in number (bilangan urutan) based on the order. Most commonly used when we want to say date or other sequential number. Ex : 1st 3rd 11th Etc.. = first = third = eleventh 2nd 4th 21st = second = fourth = twenty first

Exercise : 1. Sept, 22 2009 2. Friday, 13 3. 2nd runner up

4. 11th floor 5. August 31, 1800

Fractions Fraction most commonly used in mathematics, it describes a part of a whole. The number on the bottom is called denominator (penyebut) which always comes in ordinal number. The number on the top is called numerator (pembilang) which comes in cardinal number. Ex : 5/7 3 = five-seventh = three-fourth = three and a half

*1/2 = a half ; = a quarter* Exercise : 1. 3/5 2. 5 1/5 3. 11/12 4. 5/100 5. 1/3

Multiplicative Multiplicative number expresses frequency or number. It uses to multiply a number. Ex : 1x 2x 3x 4x = once = twice = three times = four times

Decimal Decimal is cardinal number. For number after point (.) we read one by one in cardinal. 0 (read ou) not zero = five point seven six = eighteen point ou seven

Ex : 5.76 18.07 Exercise : 1. 27.35 2. 71,250.25 3. 5.5 4. 250,000 5. 8,888,888.88

Percentage Digital Numbers Digital number is cardinal numbers Read one each time and give a break after mentioning three numbers 0 can be read ou or zero

Ex : my phone number is 8211626 (eight-two-one, one-six-two, two-six) Exercise : 1. 120 2. 1000 BC 3. 081840008888 4. 82116226 5. BK 1994 GH
