Criterion E: evaluate

Maximum 6 Students are expected to evaluate the product/solution against the design specification in an objective manner based on testing, and to evaluate its impact on life, society and/or the environment. They are expected to explain how the product/solution could be improved as a result of these evaluations. Students are expected to evaluate their own performance at each stage of the design cycle and to suggest ways in which their performance could be improved.

Descriptor The student evaluates the product/solution or his/her own performance. The student makes some attempt to test the product/solution. The student evaluates the product/solution and his/her own performance and suggests ways in which these could be improved. The student tests the product/solution to evaluate it against the design specification. The student evaluates the success of the product/solution in an objective manner based on the results of testing, and the views of the intended users. The student provides an evaluation of his own performance at each stage of the design cycle and suggests improvements. The student provides an appropriate evaluation of the impact of the product/solution on life, society and/or environment.

1. Present your observation result! OBSERVATION LIST

Play for more than 5 minutes Smiling/Laughing Follow the instruction Able to explain about the toy Willing to play again They will ask their friends to play with them

Student 1/ Game 1 Ex: 00:02:45

Student 2/ Game 2

Student 3/ Game 3

Student 4/ Game 4

Student 5/ Game 5

They are looking at/ watching the

toys/games They compliment the toys / games

The children are asking questions about the toys/ games

Not bored

2. Based on the observation result, the interview with the teachers and self-evaluation, Evaluate your educational toy/game: a. Does it meet the design specifications? Do you achieve your goal ? I do meet my design specifications in creating the toy, but I do not achieve my design specs in doing the testing method. I created my car as the design said so, it is exactly the same like my design, but when the kids played with my toy they roughly broke my toy and put glue on top of the toy. b. What has been the strength and weakness of the educational game/toy? My strength has been designing the toy and creating the toy, I was able to make several designs and I was able to create the toy easily even though it took more time then expected. My weakness was that the kids did not like it and the kids did not want to listen to me, so being around the kids was hard. c. What could be done differently? (Design, Materials/Objects/Songs, Tools/software) I could have used a different design that would have been more attractive for the little kids, they understood the concept but and played with the toy they liked it but once they broke one of the parts they add glue and started playing all around with my toy, I could have used different materials to create the wheels of my toys because the car did not really drive. 3. Based on the observation result, the interview with the teachers and self-evaluation,, Evaluate your performance in each step of the design specifications a. What has been the strength and weakness? My strength was in creating the toy and making the designs, but my weakness was creating a unique game or toy that got the little kids their attention because they did not want to listen and did not really enjoy my game. My

strength was putting all the pieces together and cutting it and doing all that work but the testing method was one of my weakness, b. What could be done differently? (Technique, attitude) I could have paid more attention in class and not play around while creating the toy. I should have used different tecgniques for the cutting because at first the cutting of the wood none of that things were straight. My attitude I could have worn the safety masks and the safety stuff more. But I didnt because it was too hot. 4. Whats the impact of your toy on life, society and/or the environment? My toy could have had an impact in their life because they get to know how it to push the car around so that they will get to know that they have to follow a certain way driving a car. They can practice their hand muscle and speed while having races with the car and the car could create some competition that could make them competitive and make them have fun.
