Solar Thermal Air Conditioning System (STAC)
After three years of intensive R&D, working with leaders in the area of
thermal energy in India and abroad, we successfully installed the first
solar thermal air conditioning system in India at our factory premises
in Ahmedabad in February, 2006. The system is currently operational
and provides air-conditioning as well as space heating throughout the
year.
The 25TR Vapor

System
Highlighting Features:
High efficiency, heat pipe evacuated tube solar
(STAC)
collectors enable energy collection even in low ambient
temperatures.
Substantial savings on electricity (required only for
water and air pumps)
The solar thermal air conditioning system is a boon to
tropical zones.
Dual effect – provides heating as well as cooling
The system is classified under the 80% depreciation
category
Wide range of capacities – 20TR ++

Each Evacuated tube consists of a glass tube made from
extremely strong Borosilicate glass.
The tube is transparent allowing light rays to pass through with
minimal reflection.
The inner part of the tube has a blue fin inside for solar
radiation absorption and minimal reflection properties.
The top of the tube is plugged and the air is evacuated.
This "evacuation" of the gasses forms a vacuum, which is an
important factor in the performance of the evacuated tubes.
Once evacuated tube absorbs the radiation from the sun and
converts it to heat, it does not loose it.
The insulation properties are so good that while the inside of
the tube may be 150 C , the outer tube is cold to touch. The
vacuum helps to achieve this.
Evacuated tube heat pipes can perform well even in very cold
weather when flat plate collectors perform poorly due to heat
loss to atmosphere.
