Grade 2 Homework (Week 22): Distributed: Friday, February 28th Due: Friday, March 7th

1. Literacy: Read your leveled reading book aloud to your parents for 15-20 minutes per night. Remember to fill out your reading log. Turn in your Reading Log on Friday. 2. Spelling: Go to the Spelling City Website at: http://www.spellingcity.com/grade2bifs/ Then click on your Spelling List. Try one activity per night. There will be a spelling quiz on Friday. 3. Mad Minutes Ask your mom or dad to copy the subtraction worksheets which your teacher gave you before the winter break. Practice a different Mad Minute sheet about 3-4 nights per week depending on how much or how little practice you need. Be prepared for a 1 minute quiz on Thursday or Friday of every week. 4. Typing practice: Practice your typing on the following website 2-3 times per week. Start with Level 1 and move to higher levels as you improve. http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/ 5. PYP Energy Assignment: Use one of these fun websites for kids about energy to make a project of your choice showing what you learned about energy. The project may be a poster, booklet, advertisements, small model, video clip, experiment, comic, artwork, shoebox with display inside, iPad app creation that you email to your teacher, power point or keynote slideshow, short movie, or experiment that you bring into school. It is totally your choice! Literacy: Type an email to Mr. Lea (blea@bifskorea.org) telling him about what your learned from his lessons this year and how you appreciate the fun activities that he led with you. This should be 6 sentences or more and should include the letter elements that you learned. Math/Spelling (DOUBLE VALUE ADDITION): If A = 2, B = 4, C = 6, D = 8, E = 10, and so on Find the total value of each one of your spelling words. Show your work. Basic Example: DAD = 8 + 2 + 8 = 18 Math: Create a Math Subtraction Video showing (and teaching) your classmates how to subtract 2-digit, 3-digit and 4digit numbers with regrouping. Weebly websites: Add new entries to your personal or fun page using the following ideas: video clips, audio clips, photos, slideshows, journal entries, poems, letters, stories, etc.
