ATTACHMENT 2 SODIUM CHLORIDE PACKAGING SPECIFICATIONS

SODIUM CHLORIDE (salt) shall be packaged in flat bottom bulk bags (FIBCs- flexible intermediate bulk containers) capable of holding 1000 kilograms. The bag shall be, made out of woven polypropylene with fabric minimum thickness 6.5 oz per sq. yard with reinforced panels, plus separate 3 millimeter polyethylene inner bag or 6 millimeter LLD polyethylene. The bulk bag shall include a 36 x 46 centimeter fill and discharge spout. The bag shall include four cross corner lifting straps which extend all the way around the bag and are stitched to the bag over the entire length. The lifting straps shall be not less than 50 centimeters wide and designed with a minimum 5:1 safety factor. The bag design and dimensions shall be such that when full, they can be stacked without a pallet. The bulk bags shall be UV treated to the minimum level of 200 kilolangley/cm2/year, capable of withstanding storage in direct sunlight for a minimum period of six months. The residual tensile strength of the bulk bag should at least be 50% after one full year exposure to UV light in Oman. The bulk bags shall meet Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container Association (FIBCA) Performance Standards and British Standard BS 6382 part 1, 1983. Bag Markings The bags shall have the following permanent UV resistant markings on two opposite sides: 1. Manufacturers Name 2. Manufacturers batch#/lot# 3. Contract Agreement No. ###### 4. Call Off order # 5. Date of Manufacture DD/MM/YYYY 6. Net weight #### kilograms 7. Bag and lifting straps are designed for ???? kilograms and meet FIBCA Standards and British Standard BS 6382: Part 1: 1983 Markings may be permanently attached labels or other means of permanent identification.
