Body Systems!

! I claim that the systems need each other to work correctly. The respiratory system carries oxygen to the blood and removes carbon dioxide from the blood. Your body sends messages, transports nutrients, and creates new cells. The system that transports these gases between the lungs and the cells is the circulatory system. The circulatory system is made up of a group of organs that transport blood throughout the body. The heart pumps the blood and the arteries and veins transport it. Oxygen-rich blood leaves the left side of the heart and enters the biggest artery, called the aorta. The aorta branches into smaller arteries, which then branch into even smaller vessels that travel all over the body. The veins bring the blood back to the heart to get more oxygen. The digestive system breaks down food, absorbs nutrients, and eliminates solid waste. This system does four jobs in the body. It takes food into the body called ingestion, food is broken down into nutrients called digestion, nutrients are moved into the blood and made available to cells called absorption, and lastly, solid waste passes out of the body called elimination. The urinary system eliminates waste from the body, in the form of urine. The kidneys remove waste from the blood. The waste combines with it to form urine. From the kidneys, urine travels to the bladder and out the body. The nervous system is a complex collection of nerves with the spinal cord at the center. The nervous system controls the body. It enables your brain to make you move, controls things like your breathing and heart beating. All in all, each system depends on each other. !

! I know that when one system is not working it affects the whole body. For example, when people have a stroke it can effect multiple things in the body. The most common stroke is the ischemic stroke which is usually caused by a blood clot. Another kind of stroke is the hemorrhagic stroke which is bleeding in the brain. When people have a stroke it causes brain cells to die. The brain controls the whole body and tells it what to do. Depending on what part of the brain the stroke happened at, this can disrupt communication with control over certain parts of the body because different parts of the brain control different things. Depending on where the stroke happened it can cause multiple different problems such as loss of muscle control, drooping of the mouth, speech problems, and swallowing problems because the stroke damaged the part of the brain that controls those muscles. To sum up, you need every system to work right.
