5th hour Shaina Tahy

[MY WORLDVIEW]

I grew up in a household that was surrounded around Christianity. The first time I went to church was with my grandmother when I was about the age of 5-7. I did not understand what being a Christian was. As years passed and I got older, I slowly started to understand what it meant, but not fully. There are still some days where I question it. Sometimes, I feel like I cannot keep holding on to this faith. It is really hard to keep believing in something, when everything around you feels like it is falling apart and leaves you wondering why? Though at times in doubt, I pick up my bible and read all the passages about how God has promised to never leave us. My favorite passage is Hebrews 13:5. I believe in God, because He has gotten me through some of the lowest points in my life, even when at times it felt like I was alone. When I think about how God would be if He were to appear right now, I think that He would be just like the rest of us. He would greet us in the hallways, and just be overall generous. I think this because before He would talk to the prostitutes, thieves, and robbers like a normal person, because He has so much love for us. I put my confidence in the truth of the bible. I believe that everyone has their own opinion, because everyone has their own beliefs and religions. I believe this because finding the truth to something requires confidence and we also rely on proof. The bible is proof because it was written by apostles that were sent from God. In the bible it tells us things that scream out the truth as long as you have faith. The universe we live in is in a state of both good and evil. I think it is in this state, because our universe is so caught up in material, and worldly things. Today, people have forgotten about religion and focus more on what the world has offered. The world was created by God Himself in seven days. He created it because He was giving a chance to humanity. Our universe is between good and evil because there are good things like people desperately

searching for Gods Word and there are others who do not know God, so therefore they are the murders, robbers, and thieves. Our world is in a mix of both good and evil influences, but we as Christians can help change that by promoting Gods Word and showing others His unconditional love. This will help lead them to putting their trust in Him. Then, the world would slowly but efficiently overcome evil. Human beings are not necessarily good or evil. Humans are a mixture of both because it really depends on how they choose to live their lives. They can choose to live their lives for God or not. God gave us freewill and we just have to decide whether we want to follow Him. I think that most humans are broken, because they do not know God. They are lost in the world, searching for things that would make them feel like they are on good terms with God. We are a messed up race, because we continually sin over and over. We are endlessly asking God for forgiveness, but yet we are still messed up. We can be saved by accepting Him into our hearts and giving Him all our transgressions. We can try living our lives everyday day for Him and sharing His Word through discipleship. I believe there are moral facts, because in the bible there are the Ten Commandments. We as humans also have a sense to determine the difference between what is right and what is wrong. I think that people should apply the bibles moral facts to their lives the best way that they can. The bible defines that there are such a thing as right and wrong because it tells us to live our lives a certain way. It is the same way for other religions and culture, because they all have rules that you should follow and abide by. I think we are here on earth, because God wants us to sort of carry on His name in a sense. I think that God wants us to learn about Him and share it with others, so they can be

saved. Our ultimate purpose is to follow God and be disciples of him to share His Word. I think He wants us to try our absolute best to pursue Him and live our lives with Him in our hearts until the day we die. When we die, we go to heaven as long as we put our faith in God. There is hope for everyone, because if you allow God to work and enter your life and you live by Him you will go to heaven. Some people say they do not have hope in God, but once they are on the verge of death. At the last minute they decide to give themselves to God and I do not know if they go to heaven or not. I would to think so, because when Jesus was crucified on the cross, there were also two other men with him and they both accepted God at the last minute. So, I think that shows there is hope. I believe that Jesus was God in the flesh. He was one of the three parts of God. God sent Jesus down to earth, so he could die for our sins. He also sent him because he needed him to spread the word and tell people of God. Jesus is important because he did the ultimate sacrifice for all of humanity and set the world straight for us all. He paid the ultimate price and now it is important for us to surrender our sins to God, so we can have eternal life with Him when we die and go to heaven. I think Christianity is true and realistic. Compared to other religions, some believe in more than one God. While Christianity focuses on only one. For example, in the Catholic religion, they believe that Mary was before Jesus and I do not agree with that to an extent. I practically grew up with Christianity in my household, so this is the only religion that I know.
